Peace be with you.

The Tabernacle Peace affinity group has been involved in seeking non-violent solutions to the current conflicts in the Middle East, in promoting better communication and understanding, and in resisting the present U.S. administration's rush to war.

If you are interested in promoting peace, seeking non-violent solutions to military conflicts, helping others who are making tremendous sacrifices of their personal lives for the goal of peace, please consider joining us.

PHILADLEPHIA INTERFAITH WALK FOR PEACE AND RECONCILIATION on May 18, 2008 -- this year in Germantown, Mt. Airy and Roxborough. We pray with our feet, as we meet and talk with people of many different faiths, Muslim, Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, Baha'i, Sikh... and pray together in a Mosque, Catholic and Mennonite Church, and Synagogue.
Here is the 2008 Peace Walk flier.

  • Tab has been the host location for several of the Brandywine peace group's non-violent resistance training, and training for peacekeepers who will support those engaged in non-violent resistance. It is essential that participants have appropriate preparation and training for these events.

We remain commited to the precepts set forth in the Iraq Pledge of Resistance:

    Nonviolence Guidelines

    1. Our attitude will be one of openness and respect toward all we encounter in our actions.
    2. We will use no violence, verbal or physical, toward any person.
    3. We will not destroy or damage any property.
    4. We will carry no weapons.
    5. We will not bring any drugs or alcohol, other than for medicinal purposes.
    6. We will not run or resist arrest; we will remain accountable for our actions as a means of furthering our witness to the injustice of this war.

And Jesus asked: "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man
who fell into the hands of robbers?"
The expert in the law replied, "The one who had mercy on him."
Jesus told him, "Go and do likewise."
